If your charger starts normally but then cuts out after a while, it usually means there’s an intermittent fault. The charger is designed to stop for safety if something isn’t stable.
Common reasons
- Supply overload or voltage drop.
- Loose or damaged cable connection.
- Vehicle-side fault or software bug.
Steps to fix the issue
- Try removing the schedule,
- Open the Simpson & Partners app.
- Turn off/disable the schedule
- If charging works normally in Imediate Charge mode, the issue may be with a smart charging schedule .
- Inspect the cable connection
- Unplug and firmly re-insert the charging cable until it clicks.
- Check for dirt, debris, or damage.
- If you have another cable, test with that.
- Monitor your power use at home
- Running big appliances (ovens, showers, heaters) at the same time can cause voltage drops.
- Try charging when fewer appliances are in use.
- Test with another vehicle (if possible)
- If the same issue happens with different vehicles, it’s more likely the charger or supply.
Quick summary
- Charging that cuts out mid-session is usually caused by heat, supply issues, or a loose connection.
- First, try manual mode and check the cable.
- If the problem keeps happening, ask an electrician to check your supply or contact Simpson & Partners support.
