What model charger did you choose and why?
I chose the home 7kW plus so I could get the right colour combination to really work with the style of the house
What colour combination did you go for?
I chose Neptune blue and a mid-oak lid to fit in with the stone walls of our Georgian property

Tell us abit about your holiday house?
Our highland holiday house attracts families or groups looking to holiday in Scotlands Highlands, with easy access to the Isle of Skye and the whole west coast. We get family celebration groups travelling from Scotland, visitors from the south east of england and asfar south as Cornwall and even guess from Australia. However more often than not people self drive to the house so they have transport to expolore all that we have to see here on the west coast during their stay.

Have had guests ask about on site ev charging?
We are getting an increasing amount of our guests enquiring about ev charging at our property which was somewhat of a surprise considering the fairly sparse network of charging stations in the area and the distance weare from “civilisation”. We have bneen pretty unprepared to service that demandin a very easy way and any guests with ev vehicles we have had staying to date just had to plug in to a socket through a window. It wasn’t ideal as we couldn’t charge them easily for their usage and we weren’t able to offer fast or efficient charging.
Where is the nearest public charging station to you?
The nearest public charging station is about 40 mins drive away so its not really practical for guests to use it. It adds on time to your daytripand its much preferable for the to be able to plugin whilst back at the house relaxing in the hot tub or preparing dinner
What made you decide to get an ev charger?
We were keen to offer ev charging as a value add to the house and as a differentiator to other homes being offered in the area. Initially we hadn’t believed that there would be demand but we were surprised to have multiple guests last year from the south east and London driving up in electric vehicles.

What was the cost of installation and how did you organise it? How long did it take?
We struggle to find trades on the West coast and finding a dedicated ev installer was impossible, so it was great that we could order the unit online which arrived beautifully packaged on the doorstep and we can just pass it over to our local electrician to install.
What things do you like about Simpson & Partners charger?
We love how it looks against the stone walls of the Georgian house, its super durable so is able to stand up to all the weather that Scotland can throw at it and its discrete so it doesn’t matter where you put itit doesn’t look out of place on the house.
