Summary:
The wireless energy manager monitors grid/property load and sends it to the charger via radio waves (not WiFi). Pairing is via Bluetooth and requires the charger’s “Plus” model with the correct chip.
How It Works:
- Grid/load data → CT clamp in puck → radio waves → charger (up to ~30m)
- App/usage data → Bluetooth (5m), WiFi, or Ethernet
- Charger uses grid data for load balancing; app data is only for monitoring
Power Notes:
- Puck battery lasts ~6 months, harvesting energy from the grid
- Recommended: leave puck powered via USB
- “Energy Manager Timeout” → battery needs top-up
Installation Steps:
- Install CT Clamp on incoming live tail
- Power puck (USB recommended)
- Press pair mode button on puck, bring within 1m of charger
- In charger/app: select Add Wireless Energy Manager → Pair
- Configure charger: Smart Home Setup → Enable Dynamic Fuse → Set Fuse Limit
- Move puck to distribution cabinet, ensure ~30m range to charger
Key Installer Notes:
- No WiFi required
- Wireless used for hard-to-cable installs
- Bluetooth pairing is only during setup, not for continuous grid data
